What does cookie mean?
Cookies, pixel tags and similar technologies (collectively known as "cookies") are files which contain small quantities of information which, when a website is visited, are downloaded on any device which can connect to internet, such as a computer, smartphone or tablet.
Cookies are sent to the original website on every successive visit, or to a website which recognizes such cookies. Cookies have various roles, they remember your preferences, for example, and track your use of a site. In order to make our services as simple and efficient to use, our site uses cookies. Therefore, when our site is visited, a minimal amount of information is inserted into the User’s device, which is saved in cookies in the User’s web browser directory. There are many types of cookie, but basically the main aim is to make the site work more efficiently and to enable certain functions.
Cookies are used to improve the User’s global navigation.
In particular:
They permit efficient navigation from one page to another of the website;
Entering the same information (such as username and password) multiple times can be avoided when visiting the site;
They measure the User’s use of services to optimize both their navigational experience and the services themselves;
They present focused advertising information based on the interest and behavior shown by the User during navigation.
Various types of cookie exist. Below is a list of cookies which can be used on our site with a description of their purpose, related to their use.
For the purposes of the provision of the Privacy Guarantor No 229 of 8th May 2014, two macro-categories were identified: “Technical “and “Profiling” cookies.
Our sites only use technical and analytical cookies, similar to technicians in the presence of making techniques.
Technical Cookies
Technical cookies are used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” (see. art. 122, paragraph 1 of the Code).
Cookies of this type are necessary for some areas of the site to work properly. Cookies in this category include both persistent cookies and session cookies. In their absence, the site, or some parts of it may not function properly. Therefore, these cookies are always used, regardless of user preferences. Cookies in this category are always sent from our domain. They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed by the owner or manager of the website directly. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, purchases to be made or access to restricted areas to be authenticated), analytical cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site. Functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language), in order to improve the service provided. For the installation of these cookies, the prior consent of the user is not required, however, the site manager has the obligation to provide information pursuant to art. 13 of the Code, which can be undertaken in the manner they deem most suitable.
Analytical cookies
Cookies of this type are used to collect information about site use. The Data Controller uses this information for statistical analysis, to improve the site and simplify its use as well as to monitor that it works correctly. This type of cookie collects anonymous information on the activity of users on the site and on the way in which they arrived at the site along with the pages they visited. The cookies in this category are sent by the site itself or by Third Party dominions.
Third Party Cookies
There are various types of cookies, some of them are defined as Third Parties. They are used, for example, by the site that the visitor first chose and which contains adverts from another website server. Operationally, the browser collects information fed in from different sources, so that every element is displayed on the same page, thus creating a cookie in the corresponding browser folder. All cookies can be removed directly from browser settings or through special programs, even free of charge. It is also possible to block their creation. In the latter case, some services may not work as expected and it may not be possible to access services or user preferences without having the associated cookie, meaning that information could be displayed in the wrong local format or be unavailable.
Analytical cookies are used for website statistics, so as to understand, with the help of Google Analytics, about visitor traffic: which pages are most visited, which browsers visitors use to browse the internet or which screen formats are used.
The policies about how Google uses these so-called “Analytical Cookies” (intended traffic analysis for website statistics) are detailed at the address:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies?hl=en
The visitor’s prior consent is required for these cookies, should the Data Controller (including through the site manager) not fine-tune their IP address masking, as is done for adcoop.it, wakiwi.it and articolo14.com.
In addition, the Hotjar Ltd service of Heat Mapping is used (maps with general color representations on the use of the site) and session recording as specified by the privacy policy of the service. Opt-out Policy.
Cookies for the integration of third-party functionality
Cookies of this type are used to integrate third-party functionality on the site (for example, comment forms or social network icons that allow visitors to share site content). Cookies in this category can be sent from partner site domains or from those with features present on the site.
Third Party Websites
The site contains links to other websites that have their own privacy policies. These privacy policies may be different from the one adopted by the Data Controller, who is, therefore, not liable for third-party sites. Consent to the use of these cookies is expressed by the interested party through their freely-chosen particular browser setting which is used to navigate the site, without prejudicing the user’s right to communicate their will to the Data Controller at any time regarding data managed through cookies that the browser itself has accepted.
How can I check or delete cookies (OPT-OUT)?
The Data Controller is not required to request the User’s consent for technical cookies, as these are strictly necessary for the provision of the service.
The User may modify their cookie preference at any time. Browser cookies may also be disabled at any point, but this may prevent the User from accessing some parts of the site.
Cookies may be disabled using personal browser settings which are initially configured to accept cookies automatically. Should you not agree to our websites storing cookies on your device, you can change your browser setting to receive a warning before cookies are stored. You can also change your settings so that your browser rejects most of our cookies, or only particular cookies from third parties. It is also possible to revoke consent to cookies by eliminating memorised cookies.
